I’ve wanted to be a fashion designer since I was nine and constantly sketched garment designs in my journals. I had no solid reason why I wanted to become a designer, but after taking my first fashion class in high school, I fell in love and chose to pursue it as a career. My mom went to FIT for Fashion Illustration, and I feel that designing is in my blood. Ultimately, I aspire to have my own Christian-based company post-graduation. I have a message that I wish to communicate to the world and want to use fashion as my platform. I chose Knitwear as my specialization because it’s liberating to have full control over my designs, from textile to silhouette development. I don’t have a single aesthetic because what I wish to wear or design depends on my mood and what inspires me at the moment.
