Always a dreamer, I excel more in art than general education, so that’s what I’m focusing on, but I also just love to design because it becomes personal and a way to express so many things. At first I was going major in fine arts, then got into architecture and fashion around the same time. Architecture became too difficult for me and so I decide to go into fashion on a whim and see where it took me. I never liked being asked, “Is there any designer that inspired you to do fashion?” I just liked it and inspired myself to go into fashion. Although I’m in knitwear now. Back when I was a child I hated knits. Then I learned how creative you can be with it and how different outcomes can become so beautiful, unlike woven. I believe you need to be even more creative as a designer in knits because we’re literally making our own fabrics, rather than just buying woven fabrics. My aesthetic would probably be a mix of avante garde to contemporary.
