I design because it has always been instinctual to how I live. The importance of creating thoughtful clothing that recontextualizes my experiences and references is what drives me to create. In many ways it serves as a filter of my thoughts. Growing up in New England inspires my interpretations of tailoring and social class. My work is rooted in the traditions of classic sportswear, with a keen focus on incorporating hand work. This stems from my belief that we need a return to craftsmanship and to find honest ways to implement its design. I firmly believe that it is the attention to small design details that makes a garment special. My designs are for a woman who doesn’t need to shout to be heard and wants to wear clothing that is as astute as her.
