Faculty Profile – Michael Kaye

Adjunct Professor Michael Kaye returned to The Fashion Institute of Technology (his Alma Mater) after a 30-year design career on Seventh Avenue. During those years he designed women’s ready-to-wear, custom couture, a collection of jewelry for Macy’s and QVC (both in America and the United Kingdom), and a bespoke men’s accessories collection.

His designs are found in the collections of The Museum at FIT, the Costume Collection of The Metropolitan Museum of Art, and the Royal Alberta Museum in his hometown of Edmonton, Alberta. Kaye takes great pride in the fact that all this would not have been possible if not for the excellent training he received while a student at FIT. Therefore, he is always happy to impart that knowledge to the students that anything is achievable through talent and a strong work ethic…
