Detail

These Wings Are Made to Fly was inspired by the fairytale The Little Mermaid. My twist on the classic tale is that the little mermaid asks for wings instead of legs. With legs she can walk, but with wings she can fly. She can explore the world above the sea, but she can still be part of the undersea world too. I was born and raised in a coastal town in South Korea. To explore the world, I flew into New York City. Therefore, this twisted little mermaid story is my metaphor.
