The inception of my thesis arose from the parts of Emily Dickinson’s life that were seen as “unconventional” for the mid-1800s, focusing on the push and pull of her wanting fame and success, her “reclusive'' nature, and her relationship with her best friend Sue. Through the shape and structure of my garments I brought my inspiration to life. Emily Dickinson’s poetry is evocative and beautiful and has inspired me tremendously throughout this process.
