This project was inspired by the restrictive and destructive nature of shame, a theme that stems from my struggle with my own gender and sexuality as a gay trans man. I thought my feelings of attraction were wrong and somehow harmful, which led me to avoid anything I was attracted to. Reflecting this, my collection features clothing that restricts movement and deprives the senses, as well as distorted florals and warped prom dresses that represent how shame twists perception of beauty.
