Inspired by Peter Shaffer’s play Equus, my thesis traverses the profound paradox of liberation entwined with control, as exemplified by the emblematic figure of the horse. At the core of my thesis lies the silhouette of the horse saddle, a point of connection between human and steed, yet an apparatus of control. By transposing the saddle’s form onto the human body, the design spurs a dialogue about the inherent tension between instinctive wildness and imposed discipline.
