Albino Riganello’s journey has taken him from his native Italy to major design roles in Milan, Paris, and New York City.
He began his career at Gucci, under Tom Ford, and then worked with Alessandro Dell’Acqua as associate designer of women’s collections. Riganello moved on to Dolce & Gabbana as senior designer of women’s collections. Domenico Dolce praised Riganello’s aesthetic, saying it has a noticeable elegant femininity with an urban edge, a decided ease and approachability. Riganello moved to New York to lead St. John knits. He served as women’s precollection design director for Givenchy during the tenure of Riccardo Tisci. In fall 2021, Riganello became global creative director of BCBG Max Azria. These days, Riganello is spending more time in China, working on collaborations with a few iconic Asian brands.
