Bridget Stapleton, Fashion Design ’18, is a design director, who for nine years has been joyfully navigating the (often chaotic) world of children’s fashion. A proud FIT alum specializing in childrenswear, Stapleton calls downtown Jersey City home, while her creative playground is the bustling NYC fashion scene.
Stapleton designs cool, comfy, unique clothes across the full kidswear spectrum: big girl, tween, outerwear, swimwear, layette, activewear, special occasion, underwear, sleepwear, and accessories. Her design portfolio includes work on projects such as Epic Threads for Macy’s, the Betsey Johnson kids license for off-price, and the newly acquired Rachel Zoe kids off-price license. Known for her strong creative presence and knack for problem-solving (that occasionally involves conjuring up ideas during the PATH commute), Stapleton inspires her team with a blend of imaginative vision and technical precision. Beyond the design studio, she makes intricate ink drawings, designs stick-and-poke tattoos for her fiancé, curates an archive of junk journals, and explores the Jersey City music scene. All this fuels her core mission: creating clothes infused with personality that kids genuinely love, and that can stand up to childhood adventures, bringing both joy and durability to little ones’ wardrobes.
