FIT Future of Fashion 2024

Tina Wilson

Tina Wilson is an NYC designer, illustrator, writer, and expert intimate-apparel executive who believes that fashion for fashion’s sake is outdated and that it should be a vehicle for uplifting, inspiring, and educating in the most positive ways possible.
She is privileged to have worked side by side with American fashion icons Calvin Klein and Donna Karan, where she learned the value of uncompromising vision and curiosity. She has designed for such brands as Ralph Lauren, Oscar de la Renta, and Nicole Miller under the licensed umbrella of Carole Hochman/Komar in the intimate apparel world. She was the inventor of Control Freak, a shapewear brand licensed by Wacoal America. This journey has led her to the role of VP of design for HUE brands, overseeing apparel, leg wear, hosiery, and sleepwear as they revamp the brand.
Born in Detroit, Michigan, Wilson moved to NYC at an early age with a full scholarship to Parsons School of Design, which has led to a lifetime of curiosity, invention, art, and world travel. Wilson is president of the Underfashion Club, a nonprofit organization devoted to providing mentorship and scholarships to students studying intimate apparel in design, merchandising, and marketing. She is also the co-founder of Marronage, a budding vision of design by archetype, whose vision is to build communities of like-minded souls that will proclaim proudly who they are to the world. Marronage is defined as “a flight from the negative, subhuman realm of necessity, bondage, and unfreedom toward the sphere of positive activity and human freedom.”
