Rebecca Moses fearlessly navigates a vast panorama of creative spheres. As one of the first American designers to enter the European market in the early 1990s, she witnessed the globalization of design and played a significant role in breaking the boundaries between fashion and lifestyle. She gained international recognition for revitalizing two heritage Italian companies in need of reinvention and for establishing a luxury brand under her own label. In all three ventures, Moses pioneered a refined paradigm of international style, inspired by the diversity of the American spirit and a profound respect for European tradition and craftsmanship.
As a designer, Moses embraced a global perspective well before it became the mantra of major luxury conglomerates. She began traveling for her work in New York at age 20, spending significant time in Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. After falling in love, Moses relocated to Italy, closing her namesake label in the U.S. She succeeded Gianni Versace as creative director of Genny, repositioning the brand for a new era of luxury dressing and receiving global acclaim. This success paved the way for the relaunch of her eponymous label on the world stage.
Moses later expanded her creative vision beyond fashion, becoming creative director of Pineider, the historic Italian stationer, and transitioning it into a modern luxury lifestyle brand, recognized for its innovative products and chic branding. In 2010, her husband passed away unexpectedly, just months before the publication of her first book, A Life of Style. Struggling to envision life in Italy without her husband, Moses followed the advice of her mentor, Franca Sozzani, editor-in-chief of Vogue Italia, to move back to New York and redefine her career.
Her illustrations and storytelling soon captured the attention of global publications like Vogue Italia, Vogue Japan, Icon, and Marie Claire, as well as leading fashion and lifestyle brands such as MAC Cosmetics, Panerai, Saks Fifth Avenue, Fratelli Rossetti, La Furla, and Vera Wang. Moses’ ability to convey brand essence through her distinctive perspective and whimsical narratives cemented her reputation as a multifaceted creative force.
Today, her art celebrates “undefined beauty”—a dynamic, self-defined expression of personal style.
