Nivalis

The inner structure consists of two quilted bra cups connected by an openable metal button. The outer layer of silk partially wraps around the bra, allowing it to better conform to the body’s curves. A row of rivets is added to accentuate these lines. The edges are finished with black openwork lace, enhancing the elegant contours of the female form. Beads connect the lace to the bra. All three fabrics ultimately extend into the shoulder straps, highlighting both the beauty of curves.

The back of the bra is connected by two trims and can be opened. The back of the dress follows the curve from the waist to the hips, meeting at the center back. It is finished with lace trim and rivets that allow it to open. A lotus-shaped pleated detail is placed at the waist, and the hem features zigzag-attached lace with rivets that create a sparkling effect. The background is blue with reflections of water light dancing across the surface. The model holds one side of the skirt.

Three trim straps are used at the back to help the dress better contour the body. Like the front, the waist features a radiating, snowflake-like design. Four godets are also added to the bottom back, subtly revealing the lace panties underneath. There is a zipper on each side for ease of wear. The quiet beauty of winter, the cycle of life and death, and rebirth inspires Nivalis. The work is designed with an ice-blue transparent tulle skirt as the core, showing the brevity of falling snowflakes, the solemnity of funerals, and the life cycle. Nivalis comes from Latin, meaning "snow-born," symbolizing the new life nurtured in the cold. This project explores the flow of life and the poetry of rebirth, telling of the quiet and eternal beauty at the intersection of the end and the beginning.
