Please, Could You Be Tender? represents the contradictory feelings of desire and ambivalence toward marriage and the saying "to be loved, is to be changed." It is untraditional clothing for a traditional ritual; inspired by 19th-century brides who would wear the best dress they had in their closets, and by Jo March of Little Women. Jo's internal struggle of craving love without the sacrifice of her own independent desires is a universal feeling, even in the 21st century.
