Growing up in a Mexican family, one of the first fundamentals you learn is to take pride in your Mexican heritage, which is why I chose to pay homage to Mexico's cultural essence for my thesis project. Traditional Mexican silhouettes are featured in this collection, like ruffled A-line skirts, "rebozos," and "huipils." Cacti, which feature prominently in Mexican cuisine and pop culture, were chosen to symbolize identity and humble beginnings and not being afraid of embracing it.
