The silhouette and structure of the jacket is inspired by my grandpa's military coats.

My project is a reflection of my identity as a Macanese-American. In January 2025, I took a trip back to my ancestral homeland of Macau, a small island located off the southern coast of China. It was my first time returning in 14 years. Seeing how much the island changed yet remained nostalgically the same was incredibly bittersweet, and I aimed to capture that same aching beauty in my thesis project.
