Like many others, my parents are first generation immigrants who left everything behind in pursuit of the American dream. As children of immigrants, we readily acknowledge the sacrifices our parents made yet often fail to recognize our own. This project is a tribute to those sacrifices: the childhoods exchanged for responsibility and the unspoken burdens carried. Its serves to recognize the children of immigrants who, like me, have given up pieces of their youth for their families.
