Duende

With my collection, I wanted to reimagine traditional Spanish heritage and flamenco through a modern lens, while embracing the essence of duende, the deep, almost mystical spirit that fuels passion and expression in Spanish art. It also translates as having soul, a heightened state of emotion, expression, and heart. Instead of classic polka dots, I chose cotton eyelet and Swiss-dotted fabrics to create a fresh, textured interpretation of this iconic motif. The collection plays with contrasts: strong, structured bolero jackets meet delicate ruffles and corseted silhouettes, embodying both power and grace. The short, cropped jacket is a key element, inspired by the traditional torero (bullfighter) jacket, symbolizing strength, bravery, and the dramatic flair of Spanish culture. There is a perfect balance between masculinity and femininity, strength and elegance. This collection is about capturing the raw emotion and intensity of flamenco, while making it feel contemporary, sophisticated, and deeply expressive.
