Halo-Halo
Where do I belong within your culture when your connection to it is no longer here? After losing my lola, my strongest tie to my Filipino heritage, I questioned my identity as someone from a mixed Filipino and white family. This collection blends traditional Filipino garments with Western Americana. Americana styles and silhouettes with Filipino-inspired motifs, physically uniting both sides of my heritage. This is my project: Halo-Halo, which literally translates to "mix-mix."
