A Crown of Violets is a collection inspired by the surviving fragments of Sappho’s poetry, celebrating the beauty of love, femininity, and lesbian identity. It draws on Sappho’s legacy as an ancient Greek poet known for her expressions of love between women. Much of her work has been lost to time, leaving only fragments behind. These designs combine various knitting and crochet techniques, textured yarns, beading, and violet motifs, representing the beauty in found art and identity.
