My thesis began with rediscovering my love for drawing, a gradual return to something I had forgotten. Growing up, drawing felt limitless, like anything was possible. That feeling returned while exploring body art at a tattoo studio where my mentor specialized in traditional East Asian work. Seeing clients choose mythological creatures, especially dragons, sparked my curiosity. In Chinese culture, dragons symbolize power and fortune. Through my garments, I want wearers to feel empowered.
