A Matter of Perception

An exploration of stagnation and perseverance suggests that feeling “stuck” is often a matter of perception. Inspired by Brazilian modernist architecture that challenged convention to create new forms, A Matter of Perception reflects progress within apparent stillness. It deconstructs tailoring through a jacket with a raised waist that appears blocky in front yet fitted in back, extended pockets forming sculptural curves, and draped hand-smocked pants and cowl tops that introduce movement.
