I Remember It Warmer
I encountered harsh winters growing up in Moscow, but I remember it warmer—because back then, I did not yet know real cold.
This collection is about the warm, faded memories I hold of a city that no longer exists. One of my favorite memories is playing jump rope in the school hallway with friends during breaks. A few years ago, one of them died in the war.
I reimagine Moscow school uniforms in military forms: Cold, structured exteriors conceal soft interiors; floral details honor lives lost.
