My Golden Kurdistan explores identity and resilience through the reassignment of denim, transforming familiar garments into sculptural, layered silhouettes. Jeans are reengineered as tops and sleeves, displacing their original function, while fragmented elements reflect systems that try to define belonging. Snap-detachable layers reveal a clean bodice beneath as a statement of self-definition, and zipper hardware reinterprets traditional adornment in a modern way. An ode to my family.
