Ruben Colon approaches hairstyling with a fundamental passion for making women feel beautiful. Colon’s diverse inspirations come from classic Hollywood, pop culture, and fashion, as well as urban art. He believes that a successful hairstyle develops organically and focuses on developing aesthetic symmetry and shapes to cultivate this approach.
Mr. Colon is known for a range of looks from up-dos to long sexy hair and everything in between. Over the years, he has worked on numerous editorial campaigns, fashion shows (Oscar de la Renta, Badgley Mischka, Naeem Kahn), and with celebrity clients; Sarah Jessica Parker, Hugh Jackman, and Jane Krakowski to name a few.
After thirteen years of working alongside Sally Hershberger in her well-known salon as a senior stylist and bridal specialist, Colon has decided to branch out on his own and founded New Collective NY located in Chelsea, New York.
New Collective NY is created by an independent hairstylist for independent hairstylists.
