This thesis focuses on the ethos of New York through “power” dressing. Clothing I characterized as confident, streamlined, no fuss, sophisticated, and understated. An analysis of business wear and tailoring exemplifies functionality and status. And a focus on evening wear highlights and accentuates beauty and sophistication.
