My thesis focuses on telling my story as a second-generation Mexican—finding a connection with my family’s traditions and diving into my Mexican roots. I focus specifically on Toluca, Mexico, and take inspiration from one of the 65 remaining indigenous groups, called Mazahua, which comes from my father's side of the family. In Toluca, my grandparents, due to the large number of sheep they owned, were able to fend for themselves by shearing their sheep and spinning their own wool to protect themselves from the cold weather in that region of Mexico.
