My thesis is entitled MARIPOSA, which translates to 'butterfly' in Spanish. The garment is directly inspired by the butterfly process of metamorphosis, which are the three stages when a caterpillar transforms into a butterfly. This theme directly correlates with my journey at FIT, and the details of the garment are inspired by the elements of each stage of metamorphosis.
