I want to go into costume design, and for my thesis Let Them Eat Cake, I use period garments to explore my personal lived experience with invisible disabilities through Rococo silhouettes. The reason I chose this era is because I feel that the way in which my concerns (and those of people like me) are often dismissed or trivialized is much like the French nobility’s attitude toward their subjects right before the French Revolution.
