My thesis is inspired by our disposition to hold on to objects that have sentimental value to us. Our things may be crushed or falling apart in storage, but we are unable to part with them because of emotional connections. Victorian silhouettes and aesthetic expressions of sentimentality are combined with deconstructed and distorted elements. Constructed with ample handwork and utilizing secondhand materials in embellishments, the desire to hold onto our things forever (despite their decay) is displayed.
