Inspired by the words in my great-great-grandmother’s book comparing her life to a tapestry of memories, “Sentimental Fool” explores the concepts of sentimentality and memory through the use of traditional couture handcraft techniques and softened historical silhouettes. Screen printing and embroidery are utilized in order to memorialize various quotes from the book, while many details, such as lines and tucks, serve as symbols of the repetition and simultaneous inconsistency of memories.
