I was inspired by the Japanese film Memories of Matsuko, a dark comedy that depicts the harsh reality and misfortunes of a woman through bright, fantastical visuals. This portrayal embodies the theme of the juxtaposition between fantasy and reality, which is a common theme in my work. Since the film is set in the 1970s–1990s, I was also inspired by the Japanese Ivy style, which represented Japan's fantasy of the American collegiate lifestyle and the romanticism of casual wear.
