Faculty Profile – Larissa Shirley King

Larissa King is a designer, educator, and proud FIT Intimate Apparel BFA alumna, with nearly two decades of industry experience with Hanky Panky and various freelance clients. In addition, she currently designs and produces her own small line of romantic dancewear, Entrechat Dance.
King is passionate about sustainability, inclusivity, and ethical manufacturing. She has participated in industry panel discussions on these issues at the invitation of the Underfashion Club, Interfilière NY, and Curve NY, among other organizations.

Her creative work has appeared in numerous fashion publications worldwide, including Vogue, Elle, WWD, The New York Times, Cosmopolitan, People, WGSN, Intima, and Dance Informa magazine.


What did you find unique about this year's class?
Our intimates class this year is very small, but each designer has their own unique voice and  their collective commitment to excel as a group is very inspiring.


Do you have any advice for the graduating class?
Carry your meticulous attention to detail into all facets of your professional life, and you will succeed.


What is your favorite part about being a professor?
Helping student designers realize their visions.
