Special Occasion

Vinicunca (which means Rainbow Mountains in Quechua, an ancient Peruvian language)

This piece stemmed from a surprise trip to Peru for my boyfriend’s birthday. While traveling, we embraced and indulged in all aspects of the Peruvian culture, from the food to its amazing attractions. After meeting with natives in the mountains and learning about Peru’s weaving traditions, it became apparent these people are well-versed in textiles and sustainability. As such, I wanted to embody the richness of nature and color into my designs, employing the culture that inspired my collection.
