Impression

I got my inspiration from traditional Chinese painting and costumes. Traditional Chinese painting does not depict landscapes, flowers, or birds for the purpose of only depicting themselves. It does not copy nature, but firmly grasps the certain connection between animals, plants, and human lives, thoughts and emotions, and strenthens them. The unique characteristics of traditional Chinese costumes are added to the design, combining ancient Chinese costumes with modern fashion.

I got my inspiration for this look from Chinese landscape painting and the natural scenery of China. I used wide shoulders and natural rocks to present a strong and powerful feeling, just like moutains.

I used the hemp rope to weave the stone hem, and it’s connected to the vest.

I used the same pleated plant-dyed fabric as the pants where the stones were set on the coat. Not only does it make the look more unified, the plant-dyed silk fabric adds a more natural feel to the outfit.

The design of the shawl collar brings the entire coat closer to the rolling mountains and accentuates the stone details.

I also made traditional Chinese frog buttons with the same goat suede as the top. Inside the coat, I made a vest to hold the handweaved stone hem. I also made stone buttons for the vest.
