Piel Canela / Cinnamon Skin

I explored and researched my Caribbean cultural heritage to inspire my thesis collection, Piel Canela, which means "cinnamon skin" in Spanish, my native language. Piel Canela is a representation of the evolution of three cultures that came together to form what we know as the Boricua, the Puertorican. Most importantly, the rhythm, the richness, and the flavor from the Taínos and African culture are expressed through the medium of couture.
