Since I was a child, my grandmother has instilled the importance of showing up and looking my best, especially when it came to getting ready for church. My goal with my thesis is to pay tribute to the impact and inspiration Black women of the church have provided to Black American culture. My collection embodies the resilience, beauty, and vulnerability of my ancestors. It is also dedicated to my grandma, Mary G., who helped ignite my love of fashion.
