My thesis is inspired by the oldest extant Japanese prose narrative from the 10th century, called "The Tale of the Bamboo Cutter," and ballet costumes. I have incorporated kimono-like elements into ballet costumes, and this is my interpretation of what the costumes would look like as a ballet performance.
