Inspiration for my thesis came from the textures of materials found around us. Bryophyte is a group of nonvascular plants that can grow in any environment, in other words, it is the skin of the earth and was one of the first materials used to create wearable pieces that were natural and warm. I wanted to create garments using cowhide leather and textured crepe—both showing texture, not only by touch but by visuals, and both in burgundy, which has been an inspirational color for me while creating.
